Positives:
I was in Fortuna for an organizational convention. When I tried to book a double queen room at the selected headquarters hotels for the dates I needed there were none available. Best Western Country Inn had the room I needed and at the same rate as the convention had negotiated. It was nearby the others, quiet and the well lit parking lot was filled with CalFire vehicles and construction trucks, with a few tourist families. The breakfast seemed to have a variety of foods and my room was clean and very comfortable.
Negatives:
Most nights I was able to park close to the stairs to my upstairs room in the middle of the main block of rooms, but there were a couple of days when they were really full and I was lucky to even find a parking place. A disadvantage to me, but a definite plus for the Country Inn in the fall.

High price for a place that still looks like it's stuck in the 90's. Popular with Harley riders, so expect some morning rumblings
