Review
The hotel is a motel in disguise (no bellmen, room service or business center). The area is littered with homeless people and migrant workers hanging out all over. The staff was poorly trained and unmotivated. The only way to send email was on a ridiculously slow, charge by 30-minutes a go, video terminal. The room had drafty noisy windows and an old bathroom.

Great location, big room, friendly staff.
Negatives:
Refrigerator in room was broken. Poor selection of vending machine snacks.

AC, TV cable, and tub drain all didn't work. Finally we asked for another room. They gave us an upgrade and employees were nice about it.I had bid and got a Marriott Residence Inn that was also a 2 star. That was so much nicer.

It was in a convenient location, close to a freeway, stores and restaurants. It was also a short trek away from some of the better known Hollywood sightseeing spots.My room was clean, everything properly operated, the bed was comfortable, and the staff was friendly. Overall, I had a great deal for the money.

Negatives:
Walls in room are paper thin, elevator came over on the Mayflower.

Hotel was in its day probally a 5 star. Today however with all the choices we have, it is old, tired and below average. Staff and cleanliness was excellent the building is just too old. The elevator when working correctly (which was seldom) is very slow. My neighbor has hisTV on at 4 am at a reasonable sound, and it was just like theTV was beside my bed. I had a bad nights sleep as a result. This was one of my least favorite hotels ever with PLH.
