Staff was wonderful, rooms were new and updated. Breakfast was great
Positives:
Extremely clean, free breakfast, and the location was very good, controllable AC
Negatives:
My stay at this Hilton started with a minor issue where my original room didn’t have hot water, but the staff promptly switched me to another room, which I appreciated. However, what followed turned into one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. On my checkout day, I decided to extend my stay by one night, and the front desk agent quoted me $109, which I accepted. He took my keys right there, said he’d add the extension to my room, and confirmed he’d already charged my card on file, so everything seemed fine at that point.
Since I work late nights, I sleep during the day, and despite having a “Do Not Disturb” sign displayed, I was woken up three separate times. First, housekeeping knocked saying the room was scheduled for cleaning, and though she apologized and left after I explained it was a mistake, I was then woken up a second time by a loud phone alarm with no one on the line when I tried to answer. Then I was woken up a third time by someone banging loudly on my door, shouting that I needed to call the front desk. By this point I was extremely frustrated, so I called the front desk and asked what the issue was. They told me I needed to “check back in” for my extension, and I explained that I’d already done this with the agent yesterday. After some back-and-forth about reprogramming my key, they said everything was set, so I went back to sleep.
Later, after going out briefly, I returned to find my key no longer worked, leaving me locked out with all my belongings inside the room. When I went back down to the front desk, the manager interrupted me with an attitude, saying the previous agent “did everything wrong” and that I was never charged. He offered a half-hearted apology and said he would talk to the employee, as if that somehow made up for anything. I don’t care what they do internally with their training, that’s not my concern and shouldn’t be used as an excuse for such poor management.
