I enjoy the whole experience from checking in to checking out. Location was perfect for us. The staff were nice and friendly. Hotel was clean and smelled good.

There were a lot of vagrants lurking around the property & someone was getting arrested as we were walking to our room.
The bed sheets had stains on them.
There were what seemed to be rat droppings in the corner of our bathroom (photos included)
The TV didnt work.
There was an odd smell in the room as if someone had smoked cigarettes then covered it up with air fresheners.

The location is terrible surrounded by homeless people and the rooms were filthy and smelled bad. There was hair left in the bathtub from a previous customer. There was dirt underneath the desk and food crumbs also from a previous customer. Very dirty

Generally, the hotel was clean and in good condition. Your basic breakfast bar was available.
Negatives:
We had to check out one day early and they said they would refund us money, but now they refuse to. They are blaming booking.com, but we contacted booking and they said we have to contact the hotel for the refund. I have heard nothing.
Also, on our second stay there, they did not supplies with any clean towels

Positives:
My bed was comfortable. It appeared clean and tidy. I appreciate the full service breakfast buffet that was free for being a hotel patron. I liked being close to downtown Sacramento. Which has its advantages and disadvantages.
Negatives:
This hotel is very, very old and could use upgrades and renovations. I could also hear the 5 freeway from my window, but I suppose that can't be helped.
