Positives:
theme and room decor was fun and overall aesthetic was nice
Negatives:
check in staff very uninformed
very thin walls, could hear everything in rooms next door and above
amenities were limited and generally everything was an extra charge.

pleasant but we won’t return
Positives:
Liked the location, on the wharf and in a historic building. The hotel was close to restaurants and within walking distance of Chinatown and Coit Tower. We liked the partial bay view from the room and were glad we upgraded from "courtyard" which is not really. We did not take advantage of the onsite restaurant or bar.
Negatives:
The area is just east is very touristy and the parking is very expensive. They charge you $10 on top of the going rate of $75 per night. There is 2 hour meter parking in the area and overnight is free sometimes, but watchout for special instructions such as "street cleaning." We found a car handy in San Fran and parking was doable if you're willing to look. Lots of free daytime parking by the beaches.

Nice stay by the water.

Very good
Positives:
Really comfy beds and the nautical themed decor is a little bit different. Breakfast options were delicious and the bar food was also good. Staff are very pleasant and location is convenient to the historic cable car/tram and ferries.
Negatives:
The bathrooms are slightly dated and the toiletries are average. No slippers or robes or water provided in the room. For a relatively expensive hotel I would expect a little more. The hotel is located at the start of Fisherman’s Wharf and we also chose it for that reason …not realising that Fisherman’s Wharf is in fact a disappointing and tacky tourist trap. If returning to SF I think I would stay on Union Street (not Square) where there appear to be a good choice of nice cool cafes /shops and restaurants.

Loved this hotel! Perfect location,...
Positives:
The location around fishermans wharf is fantastic. Loads of great resturants, close to nice walks to key landmarks and a safe area. Being right next to the tram stop was also a huge pluys for super easy access into Union Square.
Negatives:
I booked x2 King bayview rooms. I had an amazing view of Alcatraz and the bay, so have no complaints there, however, the rest of my family in the other room barely had a bay view at all (which was a little dissapointing). The hotel is clean, staff are fantastic, however, due to the central location, it is very pricey.
