Positives:
The room smelled good, for me that is always important. It was clean, everything worked well, the stuff was amazing, and they have nice rooms with best quality and a comfortable bed. the location was good.
Negatives:
It was a bit expensive. Also the parking lot

Positives:
The Argonaut is an old style brick building with tons of character, inside and out. It's superbly sited next to the harbour and with views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz.
Inside, there is a gorgeous and spacious lobby with a roaring fire and cozy furnishings. Lovely spot to just sit and relax.
The reception staff were good and a very hepful concierge was available all day offering information and making bookings. I took a bus tour and rented a bike to ride over the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausolito and got the ferry back to downtown. Great trip and day out.
The room was lovely - Princess and the Pea style high beds with soft, soft linen, and nice maritime styled furnishings.
It was close to Fort Mason and the wonderful The Interval bar which focuses on ideas about the role of humanity in the modern world.
Negatives:
The restaurant was not as inventive, fresh or healthy as I would have liked. Not bad, but not brilliant either. I tried breakfast and then decided to do my own thing instead.
There is no supermarket nearby from which I could get fresh veg and fruit to top up my diet.
It's quite touristy along the main road and it was noisy in the evenings with a man playing loud songs on an electric piano outside a mexican restaurant.
Would have liked a better in-room coffee experience - an espresso option instead of the all American filter coffee would have been good.
Lots of water offered free at reception but charged at extortionate rate in the room (why?)
It was great, but it was super expensive.

Positives:
The location, the size of the room and comfort of the bed were excellent.
Negatives:
We had breakfast in our room and despite the size of the room there was very little space for the breakfast tray. I would be good if the hotel offered a kettle in the room for guests who do not drink coffee. The breakfast tray remained outside our room for over 24 hours. The breakfast order was incorrect every morning (4 times). We have also had to query charges and discounts offered on check out invoice 3 times. However, despite these niggles we would recommend this hotel and stay again if we visit San Francisco again.

Lovely Hotel, great location and...
Positives:
Absolutely brilliant location and the hotel public areas are quite funky with the dockyards original beams in the reception area. Rooms are fairly spacious and clean.
Negatives:
The showers are over bath with a shower curtain which is always a let down. The biggest issue is the insulation within the building (or lack of it) as you can hear people talking in the room next door and every word when people are walking down the corridors. You definitely need earplugs here!

Pleasant
Positives:
Hotel itself is beautiful. Beautifully decorated, spacious and clean. Reception area is fabulous with gorgeous open fire. Blue Mermaid hotel resturant and bar serves fabulous food for a good price. Staff were all very helpful, particularly housekeeping staff so friendly and polite and doormen who are so helpful in advising and getting transport for you. Excellent location for days chilling out in fishermans wharf and pier 39 area.
Negatives:
Would have been good if hotel resturant/bar stayed open later at night as with location of hotel there is no where local open later in evenings to get a meal or drink. As a family of adults this was an issue.

Positives:
Loved the staff at Mermaid restaurant
Negatives:
The parking was $50. Would’ve been wonderful if it was included but I understand we are in San Francisco and everything has a price :(

Memorable.
Positives:
Very quiet and comfortable. For being such a busy/noisy area during the day, it’s very quiet at night.
Negatives:
Public transit from the airport BART/Muni will get you right to the hotel, but the street trolley from Union square takes a while, because there are long lines of tourists wanting to ride that line for photo ops, etc.
