Positives:
The hotel is is conveniently located a couple of blocks away from Union Square, close to transportation and shops. The room is nicely decorated. Comfy beds. You may prefer the one bed room instead of the twin one, as you would have more space.
Negatives:
The walls are not sound proof so if you are bothered by neighbours talking loud, this may be an issue. The elevator sound reaching the floor is quite noisy as well.
I was a bit dissapointed about the hotel reception messing up my cards' deposit and charge for the room, despite being super nice and aparently knowing what they were doing. The manager proposed a solution for my problem so hopefully all will be fine in the end.

The old timey-ness of the Beacon Grand is its charm. Loved the old mail delivery fixtures! Very comfortable room.
