Our room was clean and quiet. The hotel location is great, easy to get to buses, BART, cabs etc. Staff were all helpful and friendly.
Negatives:
We had asked ahead of time that cleaning staff please use only fragrance-free products - we are allergic to perfumes and fragrance. Unfortunately on arrival, the room was exceptionally fragrant. We had to open the door and window (very hard to do ... ) for some time. When we reminded the reception staff of our request they apologized, and we did not have a problem in the next couple of days.
Also surprised that while there was excellent coffee and a coffee machine in the room, there was no tea. It turned out to be quite a performance just to get a few bags of ordinary black tea. At first room service brought us just two bags (!) of Early Grey tea (that fragrance / perfume problem again) and it was only when I went down to reception that someone kindly went to the restaurant and brought me several bags of plain old tea!
