Positives:
Beautiful high ceilings and a lovely foyer. Great options for dining nearby. The hotel offers breakfast and wine and cheese at night. The breakfast was yogurt, apples, croissants, and oatmeal packets, with the option of juice, coffee, teas or hot chocolate. It was plenty to get you started for the day, and excellent to return at night for a tiny nosh before going to a meal nearby.
Negatives:
The elevator is very slow! Because of the high ceilings, it's a lot of stairs if you are on an upper floor. But, the elevator is also smooth!

Great location to visit all...
Negatives:
They don’t help you when it comes to things being lost or stolen. It’s one of those, we will have to get back to you, type of things they do. You think they would have someone come check the camera after I have just checked in and then my bag is stolen off of the elevator.

Positives:
Breakfast was good. Afternoon tea being provided was an unexpected bonus. Room was serviced well. Location was only a couple of blocks from Union Square - very central.
Negatives:
The top of the fridge had not been dusted but was remedied quickly when brought to staff's attention. Tea towels had not been provided, but again this was remedied quickly. The sink plug did not hold water and needed replacement due to age, wear and tear.

Positives:
Such a beautiful hotel! Very nostalgic. I loved the decor in the hotel lobby as well as our suite! The hotel had complimentary wine and a variety of munchies to pair with the wine! The hotel staff especially Ana were so friendly and helpful!

Positives:
A gem of a hotel in downtown SF. Old style charm. Reminds me of the Grand Budapest Hotel (maybe not exactly, but if you stay here and have seen the movie, you'll get the reference).
Negatives:
Parking sucks. No great parking options, but it is downtown SF, so I don't think many people will be surprised by this.

Positives:
Loved the vintage decor. Staff was amazingly helpful with my early arrival.
Negatives:
Not the hotel's fault but the area is a bit rough. Even with that being the case, the hotel did a good job with security and cleaning the outside of the hotel.

Positives:
Convinient location - booked because of kitchen
Negatives:
The kitchen was quite outdated and ill equipped- yes there was a pot and pan but so old, beat up and rusty no-one should ever have to use them. The windows were hard to operate, no climate control so room went from cold to hot during the course of each night. Significantly dusty and stale smell of an old building. Right outside our room the hallway ceiling was caving in due to water damage from the roof that did not appear to be remediated.bathroom door was hard to unlock, shower door was broken and off the track, lightbulbs were missing. The bed smelled of someone elses body odor. Thats an initial list of the most offensive aspects of the room.
