They charge a deposit of over $200, which is not clearly stated upfront. There is no minibar, no room service, and yet they require a deposit for no apparent reason. This extra fee should be considered part of the total cost when booking. Although they said the deposit would be refunded, it's been four days since I checked out and I still haven’t received it.

Extremely disappointing experience — no hot water for 24 hours, dishonesty, and incorrect billing
My recent stay at Hotel Spero was extremely disappointing and frustrating.
Upon check-in at 3 PM, I was not informed that the hotel had no hot water due to maintenance. Only after entering my room and realizing the issue did I inquire at the front desk — where I was told hot water would not be available until 9 PM.
I was offered a $50 restaurant credit as compensation, which I accepted. Unfortunately, even after returning at 11 PM, hot water was still unavailable. The next morning (before my flight), the issue remained unresolved.
In total, I spent 24 hours unable to take a shower, despite paying full price for my stay.
To make matters worse, I later discovered that the restaurant charge ($35) was billed to my credit card, despite the promised credit.
This experience reflects poor communication, lack of transparency, failure to provide basic services, and dishonest billing. I cannot recommend this hotel and will not return.

I booked and paid for a suite and was downgraded to a standard room. When I complained that the junior suite that was given to me was very dirty. I actually paid for urban suite and although a clean bigger suite was available the manager wanted another $100 to give me a clean unit. As a result they downgraded us to a standard room. Nothing like this ever happened with me !

One day of no hot water; another day of interrupted water supply, -but problems sorted fairly promptly.

We were there for 4 nights. In that time we were moved 3 time. First night we had bug bites! Second night/move was because the room was under the heating and air equipment. The room was so loud we couldn’t sleep plus we were so itchy from the bug bites (the manager insisted we didn’t get the bites there) the 3rd room was bigger- but the view was walls and equipment. It had a rain shower faucet (didn’t work) so I had to use the hand held shower head. A huge part of that faucet fell off and hit my head. It about knocked me unconscious. I asked to fill out an accident report. They don’t have any. Worst stay ever. Homeless everywhere. To top it off the housekeeping staff was on strike. The bullhorns they were yelling in were incredibly loud! Don’t stay here!
