Positives: It was our second stay at a Kimpton hotel and it did not disappoint. Hotel decor looks beautiful. Modern and fresh. Location was perfect for exploring the city. Stayed with little kids and never felt unsafe walking to all major sights. Hotel staff is very friendly. They let us check-in early which was really great! Great value for the price and would definitly recommend staying at the Kimpton. O yes, and I appreciate the social hour and coffee station!
Negatives: Prices in the restaurant for breakfast rather steep (+mandatory 20% even on the days that it’s counter service).

Positives: I really liked the records, the remodel of the hotel is simple but well done. The Lobby is cute.
Negatives: I don't like that housekeeping didn't replenish water in the room. You have to go down to the front desk for your free bottle of water daily. They also don't tell you that you get one a day. I also didn't care for the stains on my sheets or that a thicker blanket wasn't available in the room, especially with how cold SF is. Mostly, I don't like that if your DND is on in the morning (like 7 am ) they don't circle back to see if you want the room cleaned (like 10 am) and it seemed to be a hassle to get the room cleaned in a timely manner. Perhaps they need to hire additional staff. I made sure the sign was NOT on the door on the third day of my stay and asked at the front desk to ensure my room was cleaned. The manager assured me it would be. This was at 10 am. When I returned at 2pm the room still was not cleaned. I called down to let them know and they said they'd send someone. 20 minutes pass and I call back to check the ETA, and a man answers. I ask him to please let me know when housekeeping would come because I wanted to relax and not be disturbed by someone coming to clean the room. He tells me that he can't know when they'll be by and that's something for housekeeping to determine and he just clocked in. He hangs up and then calls back and said the request was already put in. I let him know that my request is pretty simple, an ETA so that I can either go back out and get drinks or do something else. I don't want to relax or take a shower and housekeeping is knocking to come in. He again says he doesn't know and I ask if he can find out. I let him know that I am beginning to get upset because this is turning into a complicated thing when it shouldn't be. As I am saying this, he hangs up on me.

Positives: We thoroughly loved the Kimpton in San Francisco. The location was great, close to many attractions including Pier 39, the Embarcadero, the marina and cable cars. The staff were friendly and accommodating. There were a few unique things they offered I've not encountered in another hotel before such as "social hour" each afternoon which allowed you to hang out a little more in the hotel, and meet guests. The gym was good, the restaurant has lovely fresh food and options.

Negatives: False advertising. I paid extra for a bay view. There was no bay view at all. I could have stood on a chair and looked out the window, and could still not see one bit of water. Because all else was good, I didn’t want to make it an issue.

Positives: The hotel is very modern, hip and clean! The room was beautiful, with modern decor and updated furniture. The bathroom was elegant with modern tile and high grade fixtures. Staff was very friendly and attentive. They checked in with us to make sure we were happy with our room and asked if we had everything we needed. The delivery of biscotti from Scoma’s was a nice touch. Happy hour, although we were unable to attend, was also a nice touch.
Negatives: Price of Valet parking is a bit high but that is SF.
