Positives:
1. Extremely central location with some of the bigger rooms one can find in the city
2. Fantastic bar and restaurant - some of the most exhaustive list of alcoholic beverages I've encountered in SF with efficient and to the point service.
3. While the rooms are well approved and spacious, you are in one of the more closely packed neighborhoods of the city and expect some unexpected noise or attention from guests at neighboring properties. Finally wish that the services like housekeeping and availability of linens and in room basics like a microwave in a suite were as up to point and prompt as the bar staff. An established property like the Sonesta should not have difficulties in offering housekeeping services to their guests after 4 PM (what I was told) or even room service/delivery of water bottles that was not unusual for the service standards of SF.
Negatives:
1. Inflexible policies from the hotel around early termination of my booking. despite contracting covid and then having to spend 6 days in a hospital.I paid more than what should be expected for a week long stay with the room being vacant other week plus.
2. The hotel was aware of the room not being occupied for an entire week and committed to packing up my luggage which has been left behind mid stay due to my early departure. However when. I attempted to collect this from the hotel - they were not not able to produce my luggage with the indication that a family member had picked it up (not sure how they confirmed the identity of anyone claiming to be related to me and let them walk away with my belongings)
I was ready to work with the hotel on getting credit for a future stay but have not heard back from managemet.
