This is my favorite property for the value. Easy in, easy out. Super comfortable and pleasant.

I have stayed here like ten times but this last time I actually picked up some kind of bacteria from the indoor spa. Room wasn’t as clean as I’m used to but I love this property so much. I want to keep coming back! Husband wants to stay at the property next door this because he was disappointed during our last stay - nooooooooo!

Positives:
The motel is an older facility right off Hwy 1. The rooms are old but are comfortable and clean and generally well cared for. The room refrigerator is generously sized and there were adequate outlets for our CPAPs. For those that don't need fancy and prefer not to pay top dollar for a place to sleep for a night, the Silver Surf motel fits the bill. This was actually our second stay at the hotel on trips up Hwy 1. It is conveniently located several miles south of Hearst Castle and the elephant seal nursery beach.
Negatives:
Unfortunately, the motel has very bright outdoor lights that stay on all night and no black out curtains. The window treatments screen out much of the light but if you need total darkness to sleep, bring sleep masks.
