The location is solid. It's walking distance to a great Lake Tahoe beach and the hotel provides tickets for free entry.
Negatives:
The hotel is overpriced for what you get. They've essentially cobbled together a few old motels, repainted them, and added some hipster details - for that they then charge you a luxury rate.

A wonderful hotel with ammenities in abundance. The biggest bed we’ve ever slept in with a TV too match! Not that we could spend a lot of time watching tv because we were too busy enjoying the complimentary s’mores, hot chocolates and bikes that were on offer. Will recommend to everyone we know.

The inside of the room was clean and modern, and the area where the hotel is based is very nice.
Negatives:
Unfortunately, the access to the room was completely blocked by construction. We checked in and got the room keys, then went for dinner, and when we tried to find the room, we spent around 30min circling around the block trying to find the room as the only access we saw seemed to be blocked. By that point (around 22:10) the reception was already closed and they would not pick up our calls. The only access to the room was fully blocked by construction (debris, dust, and no access from either side). We had to manually move the brick from the floor and then carry our luggages through the open construction area to get to the room.
When we checked out the reception was also closed (6am, we had to leave early). Then, when we called a day after to explain the situation we were told there is nothing they can do about it. Very disappointing customer experience.
What is more, this room is supposed to be for disability access too, so it is completely irresponsible to dismiss the issue of the blocked/unsafe access once we reported it, and I hope this is fixed for future guests.

Positives:
We were met by very kind check in staff, who gave us some great suggestions for meals, and let us know how to get to the beach. The room itself was very comfortable, spacious, and clean. While we didn't make it, there were some on site activities in the evening like- s'mores by the firepit. But, we did walk to the beach. It was a short walk over to a great view for the sunset. The property was undergoing some renovations during our stay, but nothing that impacted our time there. We would recommend the spot for any travelers to Lake Tahoe. Very easy to walk or drive to restaurants, shops, and the beach.
Negatives:
We had a great experience and wouldn't change anything about our stay- expect that we'd have liked to be there longer!
