We arrived at the Sunnyvale Garden Suites. The office was locked. No one answered the phone. Residents of nearby houses said they hadn't seen the manager in a long time. They couldn't call him on the phone either. They offered us a ride to another motel. And he was very sorry for the situation. One thing that is good here is the neighbors. They immediately said no wait. We found another place to stay, it was good.

Distinctive & unique property, and our room was very spacious with fully equipped kitchen & a nice little porch & BBQ outside. The site is a relatively quick walk into town or reachable by car in a minute. Would like to have stayed longer. Handy for the national park which is a must.

wifi was a bit fiddly, but got there in the end.

Located in the middle of a neighborhood. Strange activity at house next door to property. only given key for standard doorknob not the deadbolt.

The location was conveniently close to Joshua Tree NP and onsite parking was easy. Office staff was nice and helpful.
Negatives:
Bathroom sink had faint odor of sewer gas. Walls don't adequately dampen sounds from adjoining cottages. Room seemed a little "unfinished," wall paint, plumbing, lighting, decor, etc.
