Montrose at Beverly Hills

Negatives: no convenience stores or cafes in a walkable distance, overpriced water ($10 USD for 1L for the same water that’s $4 max at convenience stores. No convenience to go out and buy it elsewhere and no kettle in room to heat up water). Electricity went off multiple times during my stay for extended periods meaning I couldn’t use lifts, lights weren’t working. Most frustratingly, I was advised that it would take 5-7 business days for the deposit to be returned to my account. When this didn’t occur, I messaged and was advised 21 days. When this didn’t happen, I was advised that it would actually take 21 business days and if it still didn’t refund, to then contact the hotel directly. I was under the impression that I was talking to the hotel directly seeing as they were able to reassure me multiple times that they have refunded and also ran a verification of $1 payment and refund which was processed immediately. It’s now been well over 21 days and I’m still chasing this up. They’re saying the delay is due to me using an international card, however every other hotel I stayed with in the US was able to refund the deposit immediately even when quoting 5-7 business days. Whilst the room and staff were nice during my stay, the lack of urgency and willingness to help with refunding the deposit is reason enough not to come back. Don’t bother with the hassle.

Negatives: There were 2 power cuts during our 3 day stay with no electricity, wifi, hot water for hours at a time. The staff did not keep us informed and lied that there had not been any power cuts before however a guest mentioned there was an earlier power cut in the morning. The WiFi was very slow at times. The fitness centre had limited dumbbells; there were not any dumbbells less than 25kg and I couldn’t do my usual workouts as the weights were too heavy.

Negatives: Staff was VERY rude. We ask for our room to be cleaned in the morning, when we came back it was still a mess. They tried to tell us we did not ask for cleaning - it is hilarious, that you have to ASK for room cleaning. When we came in the evening with a complain they said that we didnt ask for it - liars ofc. They said they will clean our room right away but ofc they didnt - we asked 3 times this evening. They cleaned our room the next morning, ofc after our request. Also parking for 60 dollars per night - really? haha you have Pacific Design Center 5 min walk from the hotel, you can park there. You have to ask if u wanna park overnight, but it is 25 dollars per night MAX. So highly recommended.

Negatives: Parking fee is exorbitant. Also... the rooftop is nice and the view is terrific... but the pool is disappointingly small.
