Positives:
I'm traveling for work so need to stay within the reimbursement limit when booking a hotel. The price per night met my needs. The room was spacious and appeared to have been updated. The bed was comfortable. My room faced away from the highway and as a result was pretty quiet.
Negatives:
The property itself appears sketchy. The hotel consists of several non connected buildings. I was in the one farthest away from the lobby. The directions from the front desk staff were not clear on just how far away my room was. The elevators were not working. The door to the rooms face outside, not an internal hallway. When I arrived, there were police in the front lobby assisting a woman who claimed her room had essentially been ransacked while she was out. My experiences with LaQuinta in the past have always been positive; a safe, comfortable, modestly priced hotel.

There were people hanging about outside.
The floor of the toilet room looked as if a man had urinated and missed the toilet. I called reception and they put me on terminal hold. So I washed the floor, took pics of the washcloth I used and am contacting corporate.
I spoke with the reception person and she said she would advise her manager. I have not heard a word.

It was safe, comfy, and got the job done. It also had a heat lamp in the bathroom so I could pretend to be a duckling at Tractor Supply Co.
Negatives:
The first La Quinta I’ve been to that was an exterior door motel model. It was a little sketchy and nobody followed the no smoking around the building rule. Also the only ice machine was on the top floor with no signage to indicate that it was there. And you’re not allowed to take breakfast back to your room!

The mattress was sagging in the middle and hard on the outside edge. My husband and I kept rolling together into the middle. Please replace the mattresses and you'll get an excellent rating from me.

Exterior metal old and rusty. Our toilet rocked like a boat was not installed correctly. Light in bathroom was continually flashing. And there was No HEAT. Needs a lot of work to make it nice.
