Candlewood Suites is pet friendly! Pets weighing less than 80 pounds are welcome. Positives:
We had a late flight (landing at 9:30 pm) from Denver and wanted to stay in Orlando before traveling to St Augustine the next day. It was the perfect distance, because we only had an hour and 40 minutes to continue on to St Augustine. The staff was so friendly at the late hour we checked in, much appreciated! The room was clean and large.
Negatives:
Not much. Our room was on the side by the highway. It was a tad noisy, but not terrible. Certainly could have been worse. The parking lot is a bit small, but we were able to find parking, so no big deal.

Nice Little Hotel For The...
Positives:
I always like the location and the staff that works there. I have always chosen this location when I come to the Sanford areas. My husband and stay here often.
Negatives:
Upon getting into bed Saturday night, I noticed a bug on the sheets. When I tried to kill it, it jumped. When I tried to kill it a second time, it jumped again, which lead me to believe it was a flea. I finally killed but awakened with flea bites on my inner thigh, on my stomach and my wrist. I am beyond disappointed by the lack of care given to the rooms. On Sunday, as we checked out, I noticed a German Shepard, without any indication of being a therapy pet. In addition, we say more dogs in the rooms on the 2nd floor and am now aware that this facility is pet friendly, but does not have the tools to ensure the pets are pest free and/or do not dedicate room to guests traveling with pets.

We didn't have a TV remote. The carpets were dirty, the bathroom was gross. There was no one at the desk when we were leaving. The smell of the hotel was not good. If I hadn't already payed for my room and was there for an emergency trip I would have found somewhere else to stay.

The food available in the snack closet for purchase revealed a lack of imagination for your hotel.

Checkout was a fiasco. There was mass confusion with no relief or help. The on-duty hotel employee had a hard time working with the technology and could not provide a hard copy of my receipt. When your hotel is full, checkout departure could be eased with a temp worker during those times. Common sense decisions are important for your guests, whether they are coming or going.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to stay for breakfast, and I'm not actually sure if that was included. I had read the reviews for the hotel and was a little skeptical because some mentioned roaches, noise, and rude staff. I'm pleased to say that wasn't my experience. The hotel and my room was bug free, very clean, and quiet. The bed was very comfortable. The space was actually larger than I expected. I only stayed a night, but I would definitely stay again. Additionally, I had no issues with the staff. They were friendly and professional.

The check in area is a little small with only one attendant. So there was a bit of a line at check out. I'm not sure why it took so much time when we were leaving, not coming in. Also, the parking lot is a little tight with limited spaces. Even worse with the commercial work trucks and vans taking up double parking spaces.
