Kimpton Angler's Hotel

Negatives: This hotel has major issues keeping the space safe and prioritizing guest safety. After my first night, an individual had entered the property and ended up sleeping in the outdoor area of my villa. I believe he entered my space multiple times as my boyfriend found human sized poop the day prior to us sighting him. We immediately called the manager, Mattias, and he came and the trespasser was combative and would not leave for a while, but he later left. My boyfriend and I voiced our concerns and the staff was able to move us to another room in a different area of the building, and we did not encounter this issue again due to the room being right next to the restaurant/ in a less secluded area. We also encountered issues with cleanliness of the facility, particularly our hot tub was filthy upon arrival with leaves. Due to the issues with the trespasser we encountered Mattias had promised to give a refund for the first night to us. I never received it and have called the hotel multiple times first inquiring if it was processed (it was not) and later requesting Mattias to call me back for an update. This review is a forewarning that this hotel is not inherently secure, despite it appearing higher end and costs, and that the management will make promises to mitigate issues that they ultimately do not follow through with.

Negatives: Mixed messages about breakfast. At first we were told it was free. Then on the morning we were told it wasn’t and we would have to pay.

Negatives: Parking, it’s valet parking and costs extra.

Negatives: I don’t like the surcharges in Miami.

Negatives: The A/C smells a bit.
