Hampton Inn By Hilton Brooksville/Dade City

Negatives: Reservation was for a handicap room. Only the shower could be considered acceptable. The room was so small and crowded that it took a lot of maneuvering for my husband to even get his chair through the door!

Negatives: The hallways were very worn out, there was a large bug in our room, and the majority of the staff were not personable/approachable. They ran out of breakfast food pretty early on.

Negatives: oudated, old carpet, room smelled funky. Not the standard i am used to for Hampton inns/Hilton hotels i normally stay at

Negatives: Very run down for a Hampton, it’s obvious that this was originally a basic motel made into a Hampton. There are doors to the outside from the first floor rooms. The carpeting in the interior hallway is stained and in desperate need of replacing . What bothered me most was the poor cleaning of our room. The first thing we noticed was a pair of cowboy boots laying on the floor of the closet, obviously housekeeping wasn’t very thorough if they couldn’t even remove items left from a previous guest. There was a very long black hair on the wall of our shower, hair on the pull out tray next to the bathroom sink, a dead beetle in the corner of the bathroom floor, and another dead bug in the cabinet next to the fridge.

Negatives: Dog policy. We were opposite a room where the guests left a dog in the room alone for hours barking. The hotel had let them know the could not leave the dog alone but they did anyway. Receptionist did an excellent job of locating the guest to resolve. I wouldn't stay again in a hotel that allows dogs.

Negatives: Two parts of the room that were dirty first was the bathroom floor and the garbage was not taken out. When I opened the compartment were the refrigerator was it was very dirty on both sides of the refrigerator. It looked like no one had ever cleaned there. The only garbage can I saw was in the bathroom I think that one near the door would be nice. The bed was kind of lumpy on one side.

Negatives: I booked two rooms through booking.com. Upon arrival, we were told by the desk person that only one of those rooms were available. Our friends had to book a different room with a different rate. At 1 a.m. I received a phone call from the front desk wondering if we were still going to check in!! We checked in at 6 p.m. I explained that we were in Rm 111 and our friends were in 222. We paid separately during check in. I now have TWO charges on my card and I had been assured at check out that this would not happen. Not happy that this is not resolved yet!
