The Room had a musty odor. The carpet had plenty of stains. The windows did not open. The front desk was very unfriendly. The food at the upscale Restaurant was unfortunately unedible.

I liked my stay at beach suites over staying at the Don CeSar as the rooms have more space and nice balcony for cheaper!

Staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean and spacious.

We made reservations for dinner at Maritana. We were there celebrating my mothers 85th birthday. The hostess asked us if we were celebrating something special and we mentioned it was my mothers birthday. That was the last we heard of it. No cake or after dinner drink offered. The food was average And the prices were ridiculously high. I paid $75 for the lobster dish and received three small pieces of lobster. Very disappointed.

We enjoy the facilities, but the room and beverage prices were out of line.
Positives:
The hotel is a beautiful, historical hotel, situated on one of the most gorgeous beaches I've ever seen. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Loved the complimentary kayaks too! We also enjoyed the afternoon game activities at the pool and the live music there was excellent as well.
Negatives:
The beach and pool areas are understaffed, as trash was left lying around repeatedly. The food choices are too minimal, as it is the same menu everywhere except Maritana. There needs to be at least one restaurant with more casual food. For what one pays to stay here, the level of pampering should be higher.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful in every way. Very clean & well maintained. The staff was so very welcoming & friendly. Food was very good. Beach & Pools were perfect.

A/C in room very noisy when it kicks on. Toiletries are not replenished as well as coffee station on some occasions. Adjoining room made it hard to sleep as you can hear people as if they were in your room.

A little pricey for food items at the pool and beach area when it wasnt that good. They could have offered an upgraded room on their own considering the place was barely filled and not that busy. That would have been a nice gesture. Besides that I absolutely have zero complaints and love this place.

They did a refurbishment last year , a lot of which was tacky so overall it was a huge waste of money.
They moved the bar area to an area that blocked the views from the entrance lobby The bedroom was painted a feeble pink and grey colour and the bathroom shows all the pipe work/ plumbing. All in all the hotel looked better before they refurbished.
No longer worth the prices they charge.
