I thought the cost was really high. The room was $529. When I tried to book through the hotel, I was told the price at checkout would be $764. WHY? It felt like a scam, so I booked with Expedia for under $600. Location was okay but not good enough for the price. Facility was clean and adequate. This hotel is for convenience, not a destination in itself.

Expected an attractive area in the hotel to relax and read in. An outdoor patio, attractive pool with outside access would be good. This was supposed to be an extended stay but no attractive area outside the room to spend time. Had to go out to get a good meal and attractive surroundings

I stayed on top floor. Great room. But the shower water was cool. This was in morning, night every time. Not a deal breaker but in the am kinda cool.

Positives:
The location was convenient to a number of downtown attractions. There was a free shuttle bus--"The Looper"--that had a stop by the hotel. The bus made continuous trips through the downtown area.
Most of the staff at the Marriott were helpful and friendly.
Negatives:
The Marriott is located in a renovated historic hotel, but the overall effect is shabby. One of the front doors was broken, the elevator was slow, and the computer for printing boarding passes was broken to name a few issues. The common areas were gloomy and unappealing i.e., uncomfortable seating, kept at a chilly temperature, poor lighting.
