La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Usf (Near Busch Gardens)

Negatives: The only not so good thing was that I had a minor issue finding the hotel once I got into town. The gps didn’t give quite enough information on how to get here at the end of the trip. I don’t really blame the hotel for this as it is an issue that whomever updates the gps information needs to give more accurate location information.

Negatives: The carpets in the hallways looked so old and dirty. The doors look old and weathered.

Negatives: The list is very very long. The front desk manager, Amanda, was rude. I didn’t appreciate her rolling her eyes and giving me attitude when I was describing all the issues with the room and said we were checking out after being there three hours. (We checked in at 230am and out at 630am..) We travel all over the country and the world for work and I have rarely stayed at any place so disgusting. The common area hallways obviously hadn’t been vacuumed in quite some time and the carpets were grungy, black with grime, and thread bear in spots. There was dirt, food grunge on the walls, and there was miss matched paint everywhere. Rusty hinges and other metal finishes. In the room, the carpet was even worse if that’s possible… It obviously hadn’t been vacuumed in quite some time as there was hair and various debris on it; it was so black that my white socks were filthy! Near the air conditioner the carpet was sopping wet at least 2 feet out from it in the entire room smelled like stale cigarettes and mildew. Did I mention this is a non smoking room? The lamp shade were stained and discolored. There was Mildew growing on the small couch, and the chair at the desk had food ground into the back of it… At least I think it was food. Fridge had something in it that looked suspiciously like blood. I hope it wasn’t. There was no soap in the room at all, and the bathtub had hair and some suspicious stain that look like rust, but I wasn’t going to test it to find out. It’s rare I ever write this type of review but this place is just awful. I was told by another staff that people often check in then out because it’s so bad. Do NOT stay here!! The HI next door was clean, bright, and comfortable. $45 more.

Negatives: I wasn't made aware that the hotel was under renovations so I was a little turned off about that.

Negatives: The hotel is outdated, the walls and the carpet were dirty. The coffee was cold at 6:30 am in the morning. This hotel needs an upgrade.

Negatives: The room and the halls were very dirty. The rugs were very dirty. The bathtub was dirty, rusted and the water wouldn’t stop running. The sink was dirty, the rug was so dirty I wouldn’t take off my shoes! If I wasn’t in a rush to get to my event I would’ve insisted on a room change…but it being parents weekend at USF availability was low. I was told they are under renovation but thats no reason to not clean the carpets or the rooms! It will be a long time until the renovation is complete. This was my first time staying at a La Quinta and likely my last!
