Positives:
Breakfast is quite good. Lots of fruit, juice, coffee and tea, breads.
Room was very comfortable, with one exception (see below). Sofa and desk were very comfortable.
Hotel was close to Central Park.
Negatives:
There was next to no water pressure on the 10th floor. Several times the tap was completely dry. Showers were generally very weak. Neighborhood is a little dicey, with a lot of homeless hanging out.

I actually booked this room by mistake thinking it was the Hyatt Regency. When I went to check in the young lady at the counter, (Ray) asked for the card that I booked with, and also my ID. I provided her with both. She informed me that the hotel didn’t accept my form of payment. I was actually relieved, because the hotel itself looked pretty ran down, and I expressed this to her. She canceled the room. I contacted booking.com to make sure I wouldn’t be charged. Although I wasn’t fond of this lower tier establishment, I was willing to give it a chance rather than lose my hard earned money (due to a cancellation). The lady from booking told me word for word that “Ray from the hotel says that she canceled your room, because you didn’t want to stay there, and that the hotel would indeed have accepted your payment.” This is a blatant lie. They actually have a sign stating that they don’t accept my form of payment on the counter. When I confronted Ray, she got belligerent stating that she would just let the “f’ing” manager handle it. She refused to pick up the phone and speak with the worker from Booking.com. This took me over the top, and got me out of character. Hyatt Place, do better… travelers, please spend a little more money, and get you a better hotel. This place is trash. The young man in training was scared to help me. The other gentleman was clueless. There should ALWAYS be a manager on sight!
