The 3rd room was finally acceptable to stay in.

After 4 days of staying in a very small stinky room my son talked to the staff and had them change my room for the 3rd time. The 1st room was so small my Aunts walker would not fit to walk in the room. We had the ocean view I paid for but the size was unacceptable. The 2nd room they gave us took my ice and view that I paid extra for I didn't get. This room was a little bigger. My Aunt could use her walker in the room but we now had 1 double bed to share and our table and chair was downgraded to a hospital tray and no chair. The stench in the room was horrible. Then when my son came in my room he immediately went to complain and he did get us a partial ocean view with 2 queen beds that I paid for. But I had paid for a full ocean view and got a partial and no reimbursement for anything. The first 2 rooms were so unlivable I would be ashamed to let anyone or anything know about them. I am an IHG member and have always raved about the rooms and facilities. But after the first 2 rooms I got and no compensation for being downgraded from full ocean view to a partial and the deplorable condition of the first 2 rooms I am rethinking my membership

Positives:
Great location in a quieter area of Waikiki. Walking distance to many beaches, shopping centres and a multitude of restaurants. Room a bit small but very clean and with an amazing view of the ocean and surrounding parks. Staff helpful and courteous. Great public transportation in the area to visit Pearl Harbour, circle the island and go to the airport.
