Positives:
The hotel deck restaurant was nice and had a great view of diamond head.They give Hawaiian sun drinks when you check in. Loved the mini history museum. Lei making workshop teacher was pleasant. The water bottles they give you are a nice touch.
Negatives:
Staying here was a tv sitcom episode. One valet parking guy we met when we first pulled up was just incredibly rude and miserable when telling us the valet was full. we didn’t make one complaint but it was like the guy just does an aggressive preemptive strike assuming customers are going to give him grief. I get it, he probably deals with jerks but we weren’t causing trouble for anyone. the other valet guy who seemed local was really cool and walked us through how to find parking ourselves, great guy. The front desk staff is kinda like the dmv, it’s a gauntlet you have to deal with to get the bare minimum done. The check-in person didn’t want to be there, we asked where a local restaurant was and she lazily said she didn’t know but instead lazily tried to sell us on the a restaurant they’re advertising. The restaurant we were looking for was literally next door! After a long flight we got to our room, clean but smaller than in the pics. It wasn’t a place you’d want to spend time, it looked a bit depressing. Unfortunately two separate rooms had dogs and they were barking at each other as we tried to sleep. It was so bizarre we just laughed it off as our room was on the third floor near the loud hotel deck restaurant. Asked the front desk of the dmv about the lei making workshop and got brushed off. Asked for a late checkout and a different dmv worker literally pretended to type on her keyboard, didn’t look at the screen and said “sorry nothing is available.” Asked to store our bags and she just pointed to the bell service desk like an angry mime, lol. Waited for 10 minutes as people passed us (it didn’t seem busy at all) until a very nice manager came by to check our bags. 2 bucks to check in luggage seems unnecessary. The zoo parking lot across the street where we ended up parking as we didn’t want to deal with the valet maniac is a gathering place for local high school and junior high kids. There’s a loud bar next door so night time has a bit of a party vibe.

Positives:
Great view of Diamond Head. Good facilities. Excellent restaurant at Deck. The hotel had a nice feel and really liked the display about the Hawaiin monarchy.
Negatives:
We chose QK partly because it is at the end of the Waikīkī strip, and we thought it would be quiet. It is actually quite a noisy location with a lot of car revving and loud music from the zoo car park across the road.

We went during a graduation week event so later at night it was loud at times but we understood that the groups of kids were hanging out and celebrating I think we were just expecting a little bit more of a quiet atmosphere at night! But hey it’s vacation so we understood

The comfiest hotel bed I've ever slept in, anywhere!
Staff were helpful, pool was great (would be nicer if it was heated) but at night they turn the pool lights on and have a little fire going and the deck restaurant is right there.
Great facilities in the lobby with a cafe etc and nice seating area

The only thing I could complain about was the pool wasnt heated but we still used it daily and at night (as promised to my 6yr old)
