It was about what you'd expect for the price. The beds were comfortable, and the fixtures worked. Despite it being homecoming weekend at the local college, it was a quiet stay. Breakfast was offered, but we missed it due to being late risers.
Negatives:
The room could have been a little cleaner. Noticed some questionable spots on the walls, and it looked like the corners were missed when the floors were swept. There was a water leak from the bathroom above us.

We got what we paid for. The room was clean the bed was comfortable.

There was no front desk staff just a kiosk by which some guy in India checked us in. It was horrible.

The comforter on the bed was as thin as a sheet. The humidity in the room made everything feel wet. Because of the humidity, the floor was slick.

Room was dirty, dead bugs on the floor. Staff started cleaning the hallway at 0630, very noisy. Didnt feel secure, anyone could walk into the hotel. The kiosk check in, kind of a joke.

It was convenient to the SIU campus and had a newer microwave and refrigerator.
Negatives:
The front desk was not staffed 24 hours. It was 90 degrees when we checked in and the air conditioner was not turned on so it was AWFUL in the room. When we turned on the unit it was noisy and took over 12 hours to cool off the room. The towels were tiny and some were stained. We had only one small bar of soap for four people. There was only one outlet and two USB plugs available. The desk lamp did not work so the lighting was terrible. Limited options at breakfast, even for a continental breakfast.

This place is surrounded by abandoned buildings. Landscape is overgrown, Property is outdated and under staffed. Pictures on internet do not properly portray this place! Ruuunn!!
