The hotel seemed fine: basic and comfortable. There was an issue with our rooms sink. It appeared to be clogged with something VERY undesirable, which I reported, but according to the manager, Gabbie, it was “only” old macaroni. After the condition of the sink, and the reason for its condition, I didn’t feel comfortable staying for our second night. I asked that I be refunded one nights stay so we could stay somewhere else. The manager, Gabbie, has not been kind. She has been unflinchingly firm that I will not get a refund, going as far as to say that I may have put the macaroni in the sink. Yes, I’m offended, but really just hurt. Im out time, money, and energy. I’m confident in my integrity, and rest in knowing people reap what they sow. I was more than willing to pay for the night I stayed. I was discreet and kind when reporting the issue to the staff. The way I’ve been treated by this manager is truly unacceptable. I obviously can’t get my money back, but I’m hopeful this review might save some other family a few dollars and some heartache. There’s a Holiday Inn Express close by. It costs more, but it was a nice stay.
Also-if you ever have an issue, take pictures.

Staff were excellent. Breakfast was very good and I really like that they didn't rush to put everything away as soon as the official breakfast hours were over. The hotel was very accommodating of the eclipse travelers, even providing viewing glasses and posting information to the various viewing events and activities in Plainfield and Indy.
Within walking distance to multiple restaurants.
They best part was the price I paid for the room. I booked for the April 2024 eclipse more than a year in advance and paid less than half of what I did for the 2017 eclipse in southern Illinois for a comparable hotel, although I had booked 11 months in advance.
Specific shout-outs to GM Gabbie Hommel, desk clerk Heather and breakfast attendant/desk clerk Holly for being very friendly, professional, and helpful. Every staff person we encountered, not just these 3, understand and embody customer service.
Plainfield has some wonderful parks and I was able to get some hiking in at Sodalis Nature Park (6 minutes away) and Hummel Park (3 or 4 minutes).
Negatives:
The room was rather small. That wouldn't have been a problem if we hadn't had a third person, which made movement in the room difficult.

Positives:
Big room, good selection of options at breakfast, super responsive and helpful staff across the board. Staff did a great job with breakfast service during the morning rush on the day of the solar eclipse.
Negatives:
Room smelled a bit strong of cleaning supplies. Bathroom floor seemed clean but was a bit sticky. Only one soap in bathroom, instead of one for shower and one for sink. We booked a king room with sleep sofa room for three people, but we had to ask for bedding for the sleep sofa. It seems they did not prepare the room in advance for the three people it was booked for. That said, the bedding came very quickly when we requested it.

Had water damage on ceiling in two places bad enough it was cracked and yellowed. Desk had the front strip loose and sticking out. Had to be careful not to catch clothes on it. Toilet did not flush properly. Room cost way too much for the quality.
