I got bit by bed bugs. It was horrible, I woke up in the night with burning on my forearms. Then I found the bug, squished it and blood came out. The next morning I had to go to the laundromat immediately and wash everything. Come on Red Roof Inn, awful

We had a vehicle breakdown 4.5 hrs from home but we’re still 1.5 hrs away from our destination at Morehead University. Only my son and I, we called and called, starting around 9:20 pm to discuss that we would likely not make our reservation due to unforeseen emergency. For over an hour. I messaged, called. Then called 1-888 # and even they couldn’t contact the Red Roof. Now I have to deal with Booking.com to rectify the situation since apparently nobody works at Red Roof after 9pm ar night lol

Staff were friendly and it was very quick to check in and out. My room smelled great and everything was clean. Floors are hardwood laminate and they looked new. Bed was comfy.
Negatives:
Hotel needs updating badly. Carpets in halls are shabby and stained. The hotel is old but they are making slow progress updating. Also there are no thick blankets on the beds at all. It's a sheet and a cover that's super thin, almost like a sheet. No comforters or quilts in sight. I got chilly during the night and wish they had thicker bedding.

The hotel was nasty. The hallway stunk so bad. It was filthy. The roof was leaking in the hallway from the rain. They had buckets setting everywhere catching the leaks. I wouldn't stay there again for nothing. I'd rather stay in my car. It was so loud and noisey, slamming doors, yelling in the hallways. This was the most disgusting place I've ever stayed. I'd have left, but they wouldn't refund my money.
