Candlewood Suites is pet friendly! Pets weighing less than 80 pounds are welcome. A non-refundable pet fee will be charged to the guest’s account upon check-in based upon the length of stay -- 6 nights up to $75, 7+ nights up to $150. Proper medical certification specifying that all vaccinations are up to date must be available upon request. Pets may be left unattended in your room. However, if you leave the premises of the hotel with your pet unattended in the room, the pet must be in a crate or pet carrier while you are gone.

What I liked: The housekeeping staff and the guy at check out were very friendly, and the hotel’s location is convenient and good.
Negatives:
What I didn’t like: When we arrived at the hotel, the African American woman at the front desk didn’t provide the best customer service. She seemed very serious and was not very friendly. The hotel itself smelled nice, but when we entered the room, it had an unpleasant, dirty smell. The kitchen counter was burned, the bathroom door had a hole, and the mattresses were stained. For the price, I expected the room to be cleaner and better maintained.

While the staff was not at the front desk for some time, when I did finally have someone greet me, they were very nice and we had a great conversation.
Negatives:
I felt like I was being let in to my prison cell. There appeared to be an excessive amount of security measures to get to my room, but the door to my room didn't shut unless I pushed or pulled really hard. There was an unpleasant smell; potentially from mildew. The door had a white substance (the mildew) and the refrigerator door was completed discolored.

Homegirl in the lobby had the check in desk closed and she was stretched out sleeping on the sofa.
Negatives:
She said the computers were down and she couldn’t provide me key. I was instructed to call and number who would contact her and then she would escort me I and out of my room as I need. This is the most low ball gutter tracks establishment I have ever stayed in.

Positives:
The staff was nice during check in , but we weren’t able to find any staff after 6pm. The location is really good though.
Negatives:
A/C didn’t work. TV didn’t work. There was no breakfast in the morning but granola bars and coffee. Couldn’t reach front desk after 8pm.
