Positives: The coffee at breakfast. The night clerk female (there was a female and a male at one point, but did not remember a name) was helpful in promptly changing my room when AC did not work. She was kind enough to bring my new room key (unprompted) to change rooms after AC issues. Close to training venue.
Negatives: This hotel was recommended for a conference stay due to close distance to work event and acceptance of a government rate. My coworkers and I were provided 3 rooms to share by our agency and I decided to spring for the luxury of having my own room so I gladly prepaid for a 4th room out of my own pocket prior to arrival. Had I not had coworkers with me, I would have relocated to a different hotel for the second night of my stay. Let me start this by saying I normally do not go out of my way to complain or write any comments in reviews for anything, but was prompted after using Booking.com app for a review. The rooms were old and in disrepair missing caulking, cracked/pulling from wall baseboards inside room, halls were 80 degrees plus and undergoing on and off again install of carpet with half parking lot shut down for install, gaps in doors when shutting them, tarnished lamps/decor, furniture in disrepair, beds were hard, first room had barely working AC and I had to move rooms the first day (other guests experienced this as well from what I was told by other conference goers at the same hotel), second room had faint smell of sewage and window drapes unsnapped/clipped from window roller, the breakfast was rubbery.... Factoring all of this, I would normally chalk this up to a lesson learned and make note to myself for the future to choose not to return without further comment, review, or fanfare knowing that hotels/venues tend to get wear and tear as they age and usually are updated over time (as they were clearly in the process of doing upon my arrival) if they are properly invested in by its owners BUT...
