It would have been very nice and helpful if they had told me when I checked in that I had to specifically request basic housekeeping like making my bed. There was a placard on the front desk - but I did not notice it during my check in in the evening and no one mentioned it. I even had a card in my room from housekeeping saying welcome which was for a tip I think. All would have been fine if they had just asked me if I did or didn’t want it when I checked in. Seems like they are banking on people not noticing to save money. Then they were rude when I asked about it. I am a long time Hampton Inn user and fan - first time this has ever happened and I’ve definitely stayed in a few since the pandemic.
