Double Tree emailed me stating that I can upgrade to a suite at a reduced rate. We were checked in by Lisa who had an attitude when I advised her that I requested the upgrade I was offered by an unsolicited email. Lisa tried to explain that I needed to be a rewards member and that I probably wouldn’t be eligible because I went through Booking.com. She tried to explain that since I went through Booking , Double Tree doesn’t receive any benefit of my upgrade. I do not care about the inner workings of the agreement Booking and Double Tree have with each other. I received an unsolicited email and I responded. After she checked on our status she realized that we did have the upgrade and that this whole conversation was unnecessary and did not sway me to join the Double Tree rewards program. The next morning while checking out, the staff were very polite and respectful. They deserve an A+.
