Studio Allston Hotel

Negatives: Broken toilet that had to be fixed twice. I had to go but had to wait for the maintenance person...twice! There was no heat. The fan in the room would not turn off, so the room was very cold. There was no ability to control the temperature. I had yongo to the front desk to ask for help. Front desk staff said the thermostat was on neutral and gave me a space heater and an extra blanket to try to warm the room. The hotel looked very old, run down, and outdated. It looked so dirty that I did not even feel comfortable enough to take off my clothes or shoes. My room was in a detached building behind the main building. It was scary and dark, and there was what looked like a truck stop or repair shop right there. It was scary because there was always a big truck that was left running. There was no security, so I was completely alone in the dark without adequate lighting when I had to leave at night. They at least doubled the price because it was the weekend of the Boston Marathon. The total price for one night ws $309! I feel like I was catfished! It did not look like the pictures online. That view from the window was totally fake. I do not recommend this hotel at all.

Negatives: Room was too warm but we like it colder at night to sleep.

Negatives: The location is limited to having a car to move around. There was no coffee maker for complementary use inside de room. The heater made a lot of noise and had to turn it off during sleep even though it was cold. And as for the breakfast, I had some unconfirmed information overhearing some guests that the breakfast is currently "under development", being the first time they offer hot food. So I asume there’s still room for improvement, and eventually they'll end up with a proper buffet with more variety and quality. However, the most important thing is that the container-based serving method has to be eradicated ASAP. Apart from the unconfortableness and disgust about eating from a cardboard container with plastic cutlery, the amount of waste that we witnessed that was being generated every morning was just horrifying. Hope they can improve swiftly the conditions of the breakfast service with regular porcelain plates and bowls, glass cups and metal cutlery and the appropriate washing procedures to improve guests confort and dramatically reduce waste. I had a very polite response from the manager via Booking message addressing this issue when completing their corporate survey about our stay, but felt that it had to be published here too.

Negatives: The breakfast, which was included, was awful. The bread was cold, not toasted. It said 2 sausages but it was one cut in half. They were also cold. The eggs were runny. It was really bad.
