Built in the 1800s, this boutique hotel is located in Boston’s historic Bulfinch Triangle. Positives: Great location in central Boston
Negatives: Bed was advertised as a double but seemed really small and what we would call a 3/4 double in the UK. Only 1 coffee cup too. Went to the bar and they ran out of lager, with no alternative offered. Bed was made on our second day but cleaning staff left old rag in the room and didnt clean coffee cup or replace coffee capsules.

Negatives: Room was too small for two people, standard double bed that was squeezed in against the wall but with a bigger base. Smallest room they have. Room was not cleaned one day despite us not being there and when it was cleaned they didn't refresh the tea/coffee Shower has no water pressure.

Positives: The location is great and overall the room was really clean.
Negatives: The room itself was really small which wasn’t a big deal because I expected that form the photos. The bed wasn’t that great though and I definitely felt a spring in my back a couple times. The walls between rooms must also be pretty flimsy because my last night there I listened to a baby scream its head off for HOURS and it felt like it was in stereo. The real issue I had was with the staff. The first day we arrived the woman who greeted us was wonderful. She was so welcoming and kind and I got great reception from her. Unfortunately I didn’t see much of her after that initial check in which was unfortunate because a couple hours in to our first day there we noticed that the room was HOT. I’m talking 85 degrees and humid even with the ac vent blowing. We noticed that the ac vent was blowing warm air so when I went to the front desk to let them know I was met with who I assume was a manager of some sort and two other staff members who shot eachother glances and eye rolls. They went on to tell me that they’re in the process of turning over from heat to ac and basically gaslit me in to believing that their whole hotel felt like my room. I explained that the hallway was significantly cooler than my room and after a couple minutes they said they would send a maintenance person up. The maintenance guy eventually came up and said the same thing as the front desk staff and left. We implemented their suggestion to turn the ac mode off of the thermostat and put it on fan and left for several hours to explore the city. When we came back it was still stifling in the room so I yet again went to the desk and let them know. This time it was one staff member and while in could tell he couldn’t care less about my issue he still did his job and feigned checking to see if I could switch rooms and then informed me they were completely booked and I should call booking.com to see what they can do.

Negatives: When we arrived we were greeted with the most rude reception, not even a smile or a good evening , thank you for staying with us , nothing but abrupt instructions to our room .. not a great start .. The room was small and dark, only one bed side table ( which housed a fridge so this was noisy at night !) . Coffee machine but no tea. Only one mug and when we asked for another mug we were told you only get one so we had to have paper mug from kitchen ! Bathroom was new and nice but the toilet didn’t flush properly 2 mornings in a row which resulted in me refusing to use it and having to vacate the hotel to use a toilet. The breakfast we only had on the last day due to the reviews , and I really wish we had listened as it was literally one of the worst breakfasts we have ever had. All in all, I wouldn’t stay at the boxer again.
