Exceptional
Positives:
The comfortable room and beds, the turndown service and housekeeping. We also loved the view of Commonwealth Avenue and Public Garden. Big kudos to the reception and bellmen, they did a great job.
Negatives:
It was really too bad that the room did not come with breakfast. We really were not impressed by the service of the restaurant on the 17th floor. No one greeted us when my daughter and I walked in nor was there any possibility to have a seat for a drink even just for 15 minutes at 4 pm as the 100+ seats were all reserved for dinner at 5pm that evening. I was whisked away from the bar area and was advised that it was for 21 and up. We felt quite unwelcoming as hotel guests and left to sit at a different hotelbar.

Positives:
Recently refurbished hotel- very nice. The room was generous and very nicely furnished. Staff was in general very friendly.
Negatives:
We paid approx. $1200 for our room. When we came downstairs for breakfast (ground floor) we were told to go to the 17th floor. There is a restaurant "Contessa". Arriving there, we were asked to "check in" and asked if we booked a table. We gave our room number and learned that they serve only brunch on the weekend. No breakfast? My husband has trouble walking but does manage with a cane - the young lady at reception tried to walk us to a table almost at the very end of the restaurant, passing other empty tables. I pointed out his difficulties and I just took the nearest table. Her comment: "Sounds like a plan". They tried to accommodate and we got coffee, orange juice (not fresh!) and for my partner toast and for me granola. They didn't bring a plate for the toast and no butter+ jam. We had to ask.
Later I complained at reception and they offered a $100 discount. I found that a good idea.
