Reservation was done 11 months prior to stay. When we got there, it was overbooked, so we had no room. We live 4 hours away. Tried to call to talk to a manager twice both times. They put me on hold and never returned. Still have no answers on whether my money was returned or not. Very poor service. We also had to pay for valet parking to find out we couldn't stay.

I arrived at the hotel and got told they are over booked and that they don’t have a room for me.
They tried to blame booking.com for overbooking but other guests that booked via Expedia were also turned away with no where to go at night. About 20 people (or more) had this experience.
The staff and management were incredibly apathetic and didn’t even apologize. Imagine trying to find some place in Detroit at night while missing your concert and the staff not caring at all.

We enjoy our stays at the Hilton Garden Inn Detroit. The lady that has checked us in and out the last few times is amazing. I believe her name is Jeri (sp). She is very happy, friendly, and informative! We like the location as it’s close to everything we need and want. The valet Mike, parks our vehicle when we get there and brings it when we leave. We do very much like the employees ❤️

This was the first time we tried the bar/restaurant for dinner and it was aweful! The atmosphere and menu make you feel as if you’re in a fine dining place, but that was not the case. My husband and I both ordered the 100% prime steak burger. Ordered medium well with ketchup, mustard and pickles. This burger was literally the size of a 50 cent piece, the bun 3 sizes bigger, the burger was a pre cooked with grill marks, frozen burger!! Not to mention it was $21 a piece for this absolutely horrible burger! Oh, and, I got pickle spears to put on my burger. They didn’t carry pickle slices
