Candlewood Suites is pet friendly! Pets weighing less than 80 pounds are welcome. A non-refundable pet fee will be charged to the guest’s account upon check-in based upon the length of stay -- 6 nights up to $75, 7+ nights up to $150. Proper medical certification specifying that all vaccinations are up to date must be available upon request. Pets may be left unattended in your room. However, if you leave the premises of the hotel with your pet unattended in the room, the pet must be in a crate or pet carrier while you are gone.

Surcharge for pet was not communicated until check in. Charge was 1/3 the room cost. Had to sleep with windows open due to fumes burning nose and throat from heater unit. When lying in bed, feet were higher than head. Tried pull out, not sleepabel.

We were told we had a king size bed, and there were no king size beds. Also, there were bugs crawling all over in the bathroom.

We did have to switch rooms because of the toilet having an issue but they hotel did get us into another room quickly and close to the one we had to move from.

Candlewood has not returned our deposit money, twice we had to deposit 100 US dollars which they promised would be automatically returned to our account. We have mailed them but they never even wrote back.

I was conducting research/interviews in the area for a little over a week, and this was the perfect home base during my stay. I was upgraded to a suite, which was probably more space than I needed! But it the room/building were very well maintained. The staff were fantastic - very friendly, helpful. There were lots of nice onsite resources given my longer stay - laundry machines, materials for cooking, etc. Would definitely go again.
Negatives:
It was a little far away from other things - grocery stores, restaurants, etc. They have a small shop in the lobby, but it's limited. I had a car, so this wasn't a problem, but it's worth knowing in advance that you definitely need a car to get around.

Really nice, well-supplied room for long stay.

We were in East Lansing for a football game. The location was great.
Negatives:
I'm surprised that this Candlewood Suites was so "tired." It's been a long time since I stayed at a hotel with only one bed in the room that was placed so close to the wall. There was no space for a side table. Room decor apparently had not be updated for some time.

Stayed for 4 nights, left in morning and came back late at night. room was clean, bed was comfortable and staff changed the towels daily. Would come back again for sure.
