Negatives: Lack of staff at front desk for check out. Waited for quite awhile, then had to go looking for someone and when found said staff they were quite rude.

Negatives: Upon check-in, we added another night and the gentleman said we could keep the same room. Midday the next day I get a call that we were supposed to have checked out already, and they need us to clear our room ASAP. They had no record of the stay being extended. We were halfway into Mesabi Mountain Trail, so it would be 4 hours before we could get back. The lady supervisor was not empathetic, and said she had to switch us to a different room. We objected to our personal items being touched and packed by strangers, but she gave no alternative. We felt very violated -- toothbrushes, lingerie, electronics, laptop. It was hard to remember exactly what we left out. We returned to the hotel to find our belongings sitting openly in the lobby where anyone could have accessed them (instead of tucked inside the office for security.) The [same] gentleman at the front desk recalled extending our stay the night before, and apologized that it somehow didn't save. We wanted to speak to the supervisor that moved our belongings, but she stated she was unavailable until Monday morning, and it was Saturday afternoon. The gentleman comped our Saturday stay and apologized. The next morning the lady supervisor [supposedly not available until Monday] called our room complaining they had "no record of anyone staying in that room." From the conversation tone, it was obvious she knew it was us. We said we'd be out by check-out and left it at that. The supervisor needs re-training on hospitality best practices and demeanor. Props the the gentleman at the desk for being honest about the mix up, sincerely apologizing, and trying to make it right. We regularly come to Gilbert for offroading with lots of Jeep friends. We and our Jeep crew will be reluctant to stay here again. Additional cons: The "queen" beds are actually "double" size. The mattresses are uncomfortably firm if you side-sleep or have a sensitive back.

Negatives: For some reason, even though the room was super clean, it smelled interesting, somehow like a senior home. After a couple of minutes that smell was gone though, I guess, it was just a special type of cleaning supply. The bathroom was clean but could use an update in a couple of weeks. The breakfast offers everything you need but is on the more basic side. Overall, some furniture and common rooms are not updated yet. It doesn't bother as everything is clean but it is worth mentioning.

Negatives: Breakfast staff was very short staffed for a busy weekend. The only staff couldnt keep up with breakfast needs and run the front counter and phone. The hot tub wasn't working. The pool was cold. Kinda a disappointment as being these needs were the main reason for staying.
