What did I like? The toilet and sink in the bathroom appeared newer and clean. A/C worked well.

The man who checked us in was nice, but basically told us that he and all of other hotels were price gauging as there was a nearby event happening. We paid $145-which is almost double their normal charge of appx $79 - which still isn't a good deal. The bed was the most flimsy, uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in. The shower was dirty with soap scum. Remnants of old, non-slip stickies that someone had tried to rip out. You could see the drip lines where someone had once squirted a cleanser in the tub, but never scrubbed the dirt away. Old, discolored ceiling panels set in very rusty frames. When were walking down the hall to the room, there was a very strong, unpleasant, chemical odor. That mostly went away after we turned on the A/C. Not sure if that was a good or bad thing. Random loud banging noises during the night. The breakfast was a joke. Not worth even looking at. There was a make your own waffle set up. However, given the state of the rest of the motel, didn't trust the cleanliness of it.
No one at the front desk in the morning. Only a sign with a phone number in case of emergencies.
We picked this place because it was the cheapest available, but it also had decent reviews. Not sure what that is about. Perhaps some rooms are nicer than others.
I hate to shnark, but feel that we were mislead by some of the reviews. Giving people a head's up.

The GM that checked us in. Room location because of our dog. Price...but in this case, you get what you pay for.
Negatives:
The room was very institutional like. The floors were filthy. The mattresses were not bed bug protected (the mattress covers were not sealed). There was only one chair at the small table provided. The exhaust fan in the bathroom rattled and was very irritating to listen to. The freezer was cold, but not the refrigerator.
