Negatives:
They charmed me for the room when I had already paid when I made the reservation . Told me it was a $50 deposit which was not true. Could not get them to return my money in a timely manner , it was my vacation money. Will never go there again.

Great location and restaurant

When I arrived, they informed me that they were closing down for the remainder of my stay the next 3 days for water issues. I was forced to find lodging immediately the next day. Really a bad look when you drive 10 hours only to be told to go away.
Positives:
I liked there was a Casino on the 1st floor didn't have to travel anywhere, there was also a restaurant & bar. Free drinks while actively playing at the Casino was also good most places charge outside of Vegas.
Negatives:
The smoke from the Casino but other then that was overall very satisfied & would travel again & stay here. Is slightly dated but they are in the process of renovating there rooms so by next time should be a little more modern.

Our experience at The Federal Hotel was pretty much better than expected. Since the first moment we stepped into the appearance, the cleaning everywhere, the kindness from their staff from every area, their service in overall satisfied us.

Everything was great and at a very reasonable rate.

We liked the diner and being able to access it easily. We liked having a balcony~

We did not like that there were no water fountains nor water bottles in the room

Positives:
It was easy to find and welcoming upon entrance. It did not bombard you with the casino vibe as soon as you walk in it was very nice. The staff was fun and personable but maintains an air of professionalism. I will most definitely stay here again!! Oh and the rooms come equipped with a shower chair and stabilizing bars in the restrooms.
Negatives:
The restaurant (Black Bear Diner) food was very disappointing. The wait staff however was fast and accommodating.

The room did not meet expectations as per advertisement. Could still smell smoke even though room was non smoking. I guess smoke from the casino. Ceiling tiles needed replacement. Bathroom was small with bad caulking around the sink.

The location is easy walking to downtown. The room was a good value, clean and well furnished.
Negatives:
The only thing that would take away from an excellent score, is a remodel is going on. This is not the fault for the Hotel, as they accommodated us very well considering this.

The friendliness of the employees, very courteous had a great time with the staff. The check in manager great. we will stay there again when we decide to go back Carson City.
