Positives:
Location.
Negatives:
We were in the room at the top of the stairs as people walked up and down, the staircase pointed right into our room. Since no elevator, people were lugging their luggage up and down throughout the morning and evening nights. Though historical and nostalgic, it was not up to par with what we expected from the descriptions. First staff member that greeted us at the front desk to check us in never looked up and was very short with us on check in information, yet barely made eye contact. Saving grace, the morning day shift lady was a gem!

I would look to other places in the near by area instead unless you could secure a better room
Positives:

Negatives:
Dangerous stair case with low railings

Too expensive for a run down place like this

Poor breakfast
Positives:
Right on Main Street and amid local restaurants and shops. Pretty area and close enough to travel to other areas
Negatives:
For the price point.. very run down.. worst
bathroom ever , even for an historic Inn. Worn floors, extension cords, I have stayed at other historic inns and this was pretty shabby!
The bed was comfortable . However only 1 nightstand.. how about finding 2 smaller ones?
Back entry dirty and unwelcoming.. the mats never cleaned or put down correctly do you wouldn’t trip. The staff was nice!

Disappointing?
Positives:
We loved our stay here. The inn is very charming and cozy ..... although we did have a few challenges with our room - initially we were assign a lower grade room than we had booked, the shower handle broke off, the breaker tripped when we used the hair dryer and the portable heater, but the Inn Keeper worked really hard to fix things in a timely manner and we appreciate that. It is an old Inn, so one must expect a few glitches. Parking is ample and easy. The restaurant in downstairs part of the Inn, but not run by the Inn, is wonderful. We had a wonderful meal there. Breakfast is suitable. The location is great! The Inn is very clean and cozy.

Quaint, charming cozy Inn with a glitch or two.
Positives:
The staff was welcoming and professional. The location was very good.
Negatives:
The room we were assigned was very cramped and the floor was extremely slanted due to the age of the building.
Unfortunately, this did not work well for us as we are an older couple and got tripped up by the floor quite a bit.

The town was beautiful to visit but I would stay in another hotel if we visited. I would not recomm
Positives:
Location, in town. Restaurant in the basement is phenomenal
Negatives:
Carpet has big dark stains and was old and ragged, crumpled in places to create ridges. Curtains were covered in dust. Went to use a towel, found it soiled... dark spots...dirt or mold? Rooms were very small, poorly appointed, and in serious need of updating; definitely overpriced. Electric outlet rigged with a power strip dangling from beneath the coffee pot is just one example of the hodge podge accommodations. Shades on the windows could not be pulled down fully, allowing the very bright light from the street to shine in the room all night. "Breakfast" consisted of packaged, processed food (e.g. pop tarts) and some bagels. Staff was not friendly nor apologetic re: dirty towel.

Very disappointed

Positives:
The location in town and proximately to leaf peeping spots was great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Beds were clean and comfortable. The history of the hotel is nicely displayed throughout. Carpet in hallways looked newer and fresh.
Negatives:
Breakfast was very disappointing. Very Best Westernish without the waffle making machine. Packaged food, not sure how long it had sat on their shelf. 3 pieces of fresh fruit for full hotel over several days. At the price we paid and the advertising to be a historic hotel, it seems so much could be done to improve the breakfast experience. How about some fresh baked goods, local jams, fresh fruit. They don't clean the rooms during the stay unless you request it and they didn't mention that at check in. Windows were soooo dirty. Room and shower are very small.

Positives:
The bar/restaurant in the basement was a bright spot. The food was surprisingly good as were the drinks. I don't think it was owned by the hotel.
Negatives:
The room was a roller coaster. It must have been an addition as it had floors that were different from the rest of the hotel. It was small - the clerk said she was giving us a bigger room because we were tall - and crowded with furniture. The bathroom was a closet. The breakfast was various kinds of bread, mostly convenience store stuff, some fruit and coffee.

A waste of money.
Positives:
The location was very convenient to the shopping center.
Negatives:
Although the hotel was clean, it is old and could use some refurbishing. The carpet in our room was stained and the wallpaper was peeling.

Positives:
Location was superb. Centre of town. Great pub downstairs for a nightcap.
Negatives:
I was on top floor, so lots of stairs. No issues though. I was expecting it.

Taking shortcut through the States, heading back to Canada. I stopped in Littleton as a midway point.

One of the most unique and historically fun places we’ve stayed— loved the downstairs saloon!
