My wife and I stayed here back in 2017 and had a great stay. We were very disappointed to see how much the standards had dropped. The room wasn't adequately prepared. There was a random sock in the closet. Even though our reservations was for a family of 4, there was only 2 sets of towels. The bath gel was very low, seemed like it was not refilled after the previous guest. We had to request more. Ran out of toilet paper on day 2. Called the front desk to request more but after a hour I had to go down stairs to get it myself. In general getting in contact with the front desk was not easy, had to call numerous times. They seemed understaffed, with the front desk all over the place and never consistently on post.

In the room we found 2 small bottles of water outside the minibar. For everything in the minibar there was a price on the menu, except for those 2 bottles of water, so we thought they were offered with the room. We then got charged €16 (€8 each) for those. That was just not transparent.

Coming from Europe we went to NU Hotel for 10 nights in January 2024.
Everything was perfect : very friendly staff, nice and clean room, breakfast !
The hotel situation allows you to be very close from public transports and you can easily find some nice bars and restaurants around the hotel.
The NU hotel is really the best option if you want to stay outside and close to Manhattan for a decent price.

We’ve stayed here before & love that each room is a little different. We knew there was construction going on nearby & requested a quiet room if possible, so we were given a lovely room that was on the peaceful side of the building. And as always I appreciate the yoga mat in the room!
