Positives: Checked in 3pm Checked out 935pm. Not a good experience.
Negatives: You need to disclose to customers that this location houses the homeless community. The hotel is dirty and the smell is intolerable. The heating system did not work. It was freezing in the winter. I called for a blanket and was handed a dirty linen. People adults and many children hanging everywhere in the halls and lobby loud and smoking. Only one elevator works and there was a line to use it. Took the stairs and that was an unsafe feeling with people hanging around.

Positives: . Eggs were good. Shower nice and hot and bed comfortable.
Negatives: Elevated was broken. coffee in a container marked decaffeinated but was actually regular coffee both days and the explanation for this was that they ran out of decaffeinated coffee and just filled up the extra container with regular coffee. That is a dangerous practice, especially for people who can’t tolerate caffeine. They need more selection of tea and had no hot chocolate. No meat at breakfast. Heat in the room wasn’t working properly and we were quite cold.

Positives: The location allowed us to visit places in Nassau County and NYC by car. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. All the appliances were functional and easy to operate. Breakfast was very good and gave a great start to our busy days.
Negatives: The shower dispensers were too high for tub bathers. Little disposable cups like they have for ketchup at fast food places would solve that problem of tub safety.

Positives: This La Quinta is functioning partially as a homeless shelter. They did a good job of trying to keep the temporary guests like us happy and clean. It seems they have set aside rooms for guests and these are very well kept
Negatives: The corridors are full of pot smoke. One of the elevators was not functioning and the resident kids were riding the only functional elevator a lot, so it was a long wait for us from the 5th floor. I'm very disappointed that Booking.com represented the hotel as a regular guest experience with no warning that it was also a residential bldg.
