Very comfortable and relaxing!
Positives:
Clean, comfy rooms, with beautiful view. Big and comfortable bed. Location is central yet calm. Plenty of restaurants/shops are at short walking distance. Some other reviewers wrote about the steep hill but I think it is easy to walk up and very short. Friendly staff.
Negatives:
There was an ancient, noisy airconditioner with the compressor built in. Simply opening the windows at night was not an option because they didn't have webbing against the insects. The hotel is getting a bit dated, will need some refurbishment at some point.

The view from our room was beautiful... but unfortunately we couldn't sit on our terrace/deck.

There seems to be an infestation of Black Flies in this area at this time of the year.. which NO ONE mentioned to us or warned us of. Simply walking from our car to the lobby we were ATTACKED by swarms of these insects. They were literally all over us as we tried to check in... and it was apparent the staff was very well aware of these biting, blood sucking insects. By the time we got to our room, my daughter had a dozen bleeding bites on her neck, which eventually swelled to the likes of wasp bites. we later went to the front desk to inquire if they had a small "store" in the Hotel where we could possible purchase to help her...the staff had Insect Sting Wipes at the front desk. (Does that tell you something?) One employe told us he had to wear two long sleeved shirts to work last summer and they still bit through that! We had to find a pharmacy first thing the next morning for Advil, antihistamines and topical cream.... she was so swollen. If we had be warned or informed we would have doused ourselves in insect repellant.... it was horrific and just about ruined an important family occasion... a simple "warning" could have made a significant difference! We paid over $300.00 for a room which we had to kill bugs in that were on our clothes and bags, in our hair etc.... TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! And a beautiful terrace we couldn't use. I believe we are owed a credit to come back and stay when this infestation is over... perhaps the Fall? Extremely upset.
