Positives:
On the positive side is the location (if you want to be close to Time Square and the Penn train station), and the staff in the breakfast room. They were friendly, helpful and remained cool while people were lining-up to get breakfast (we had to wait around 10 minutes to get seated).
However, the room was clean and quite ok for 2 people.
Negatives:
At check-in we were told to pay the full stay (1 night was already charged to the credit card) and although we asked if we could pay per night that was refused. Moreover, without telling or explaining us they charged a "securtity deposit"(USD 70). We only found out comparing the card charges with the booking price and had to ask. We never understood this as they had our credit card anyway...
For breakfast there was a long queue waiting to be seated (up to 10 minutes) - a bit like in a cantine. Breakfast was average (no big choices) but we admired the staff working there as they kept their cool and were helpful and friendly!!
The hotel has 3 elevators and it takes sometimes 5-6 minutes to go either up or down. Its a tourist area (close to Times Square) and maybe we should have expected this, but we were rather surprised...

The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming, the room was neat and organized, the breakfast was good and breakfast area always kept clean. The location is close to time square and Broadway.
Negatives:
For first time visitors in NYC, I would not recommend staying near times square / Broadway, the streets around and were the hotel is located, is filthy and many drug addicts around. Nothing against the hotel is just the area that needs some extra care.
