Positives: Room was okay. But A/C not great. Thermostat didn’t work. Side unit on wall didn’t work. Window unit worked but never cold. Clearly, needs new A/C.
Negatives: Elevator did not always go to 15th floor. Would show it got to 14. Workers said to hold both buttons, but it still didn’t come. Had to walk down 15 flights.

Negatives: We are absolutely appalled with our experience at The Gallivant. Having travelled across the world this is by far the worst experience we have encountered! We are a group of 4 females (two children celebrating their birthday) from London! 1. The room we were allocated ( 1116) was very drab, dusty, and the bathroom had mould. When we asked the receptionist if could change the room,we were informed that no other rooms were available. 2. After returning from a busy afternoon, we returned to discover that the shower tap was loose and also had no hot water. 3. We tried to ring reception, but the phone was dead. 4. We then went downstairs to reception and were told that someone from maintenance would come up to sort the issue. We waited patiently for almost half an hour and because no one turned up, we had to go downstairs again. 5. When the maintenance guy turned up, we were informed by him that the room was out of order and should not have been available to guests! He accompanied us down to reception and spoke with the receptionist about this and even about the phone issue. The receptionist showed no empathy towards us saying she didn’t know about this issue. 6. We were then given a similar room on the 4th floor, and were asked to go look at it if was in working order. This room also had no hot water and whilst the air conditioner could be controlled in one room, the other room had no AC control and was freezing cold. No working phone on this room either! 7. We then had to go back down to reception, and were asked “ what is it that you want then?” in a rude manner. At this stage, we were feeling very exhausted, jet lagged and our daughters were very upset as well. I was so fatigued I didn’t even realise I had gone downstairs in my pyjamas! We then had to suggest if we could have two separate rooms at least, and at this point we were offered rooms 929 and 928. 8. When we asked if we could have help to move our luggage, we were told to do it ourselves. 9.

Positives: The room we booked had water damage. They gave us two rooms to give us the correct number of beds, which meant we got an extra bathroom. Great service and location to times square!

Positives: The bed was comfortable. The location was great. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Negatives: The room was very dark with lightbulbs burned out in the main room and bath. Many lightbulbs also out throughout the hallways. The air-conditioning unit was so loud we had to shout over it to speak to one another. But, it did work and we were very happy for that!
