Positives:
Took responsibility and offered to pay for the contents of the bag they wrongly gave to another person. Location is the only good part about this hotel.
Negatives:
Arrived at 2:15, check in is at 3, I was hoping to check in a little early. I was told no - Ok, that's their right. But then the staff at the desk told me not to expect to be able to check-in at 3pm either since they had a "lot of late check outs." I asked for a time, they couldn't give me one. I then asked If I would be paying less since they were providing less and I was told "that's not how it works." I had to change my plans and left my bag at the front desk for them to hold until I checked in later.
I came back in and checked in several hours later without issue, great. The person I was staying with also checked their bag in at the front desk, and when they arrived back at the hotel, they came to find out their bag was missing. The hotel apparently gave their bag to someone else (despite having a numbered tag system that was apparently ignored by the staff). As a result, they were without their belongings the entire trip. Eventually after speaking to the manager they offered to compensate them for the bag and the contents if they couldn't get it back, but it's crazy to me that you can check your bag into a hotel and have them give it to someone else, even with a numbered tag system. There's no excuse for that.
On top of that, when I first tried to check in they said I could use the bathroom, which I did - there were people's bags in the bathroom! I get it, there were a ton of bags, but putting them in the bathroom (where me or anyone else could have gone through them) is crazy, their bag checking system obviously needs a complete revamp if they are doing stuff like this and losing people's bags.
Now, let's move on to the room. I knew I wasn't paying for the Ritz Carlton here, but was was expecting a couple more things. For one, I was expecting the toilet seat to have a top cover so that when you flush you aren't getting germs everywhere in the bathroom.

Positives:
I got in quite early. 8am. Since I had a reservation I was able to store my bag for free, they offer baggage storage for other travels who are not staying with the them so they get a lot of traffic on the lobby at times. They have 1 microwave in the lobby and once you exit the building you are a 10 minute walk from times square and 20 minute walk from central Park. A 10 minute walk from Penn station which is convenient.
Negatives:
Early check in isn't available for 3rd party booking sites. Room was humid.

Superb
Positives:
Great location, only a few blocks from Penn Station. The hotel was easy to find and the staff were excellent. The room was tidy and clean. The one mattress was a bit soft, but fortunately I had another bed in the room that was great. Overall, a nice, comfortable place that was perfect for what I needed, which was a convenient room for an overnight stay. And they were kind enough to hold my bag for most of the next day!
Negatives:
I think one of the mattresses could be updated, but other than that I have no complaints!

Positives:
Location, right at corner of 38th and 8th was close to Time Square and many Broadway theaters. The hotel is charming and the room was much bigger than I expected.
Negatives:
Noise from traffic on 8th street all night. There are windows on that side and they didn’t do a great job of blocking noise.

Positives:
The room was perfect for what I needed for the night. I appreciated the fan/AC as well as it was warm. I was also able to check in really late and really liked the late check out.
Negatives:
Nothing comes to mind, it suited what I needed for my stay.

Nice stay
Positives:
Perfectly serviceable but pictures are well taken. In reality it’s dark and cramped and feels like a hostel that is at least maintained well
Negatives:
Price - I get it but ending up at 200 a night when all said and done is about double what it’s worth. Shower had no pressure and ran out of hot water - you had to hug the tap to get under it.

Positives:
Location is Amazing, room relatively compact but decent and has pretty much all the necessities.
Shower was cold, and this was a big minus.. we considered scoring the place 6 and eventually left a 7. If the shower was good, we would give it a solid 8

Positives:
The twin beds were comfortable. Though the hotel is small, the courteousness of its staff and the cleanliness of the rooms are on par with more upscale hotels. The rooms are cosy and quirky. I would definitely return. The location of the hotel is spot on!
