Room had been cleaned; location was great. Air conditioner was noisy but worked.

The furniture was awful: scarred, not functional; desk too small and broken; desk and side table surfaces had bubbles in them; desk chair was uncomfortable; no chair other than the desk chair, so no place to sit and relax. I've seen better furniture at my local Goodwill. Patches and visible remnants of a not-well-done renovation including badly grouted bathroom sink. Wifi did not work adequately. Hotel charged a $30 "resort fee" but had no resort facilities. Carpet was heavily stained. Chips on walls, edges of shelves. Only one very slow and tiny elevator served the hotel, which has several floors. Staff was OK but not particularly helpful.

It’s the dirtiest carpets we’ve ever seen. The ac is totally inadequate. One small elevator for guests and staff makes it
impossible to use. Honestly the worst hotel we’ve ever stayed in. Great location, just the place up.

Breakfast was sufficient and the room was quiet for sleeping.
Negatives:
Dirty warn carpets in the room.and halls. Sheets were.washed but still had stains, dust ruffle on beds dirty and torn, handle to direct air on air conditioner broken, shower staul grout dirty and no hook on nside bathroom door to hang clothes while showering, bathroom very small, TV desk stand 1 leg tilted inward while the other side attached to dresser uneven and barely hanging on with 1 nail.

The location is great. It’s on a quiet residential street in a nice, safe part of town. 1 block from Central Park, 1 block from the subway, and 1 block from Columbus Ave where there are plenty of shops and restaurants.
Negatives:
The rooms were very small. Smaller than they appear in the photos. The smallest I’ve ever stayed in, including in Europe. My double room was about 8’x10’, not including the bathroom, which was also very small- about cruise ship sized. Barely any space on one side of the bed, and the other side was pushed up against the wall. The air conditioning was loud- I needed sleep meds to fall and stay asleep with the AC noise. The smoke detector was broken. The security lock was broken. After one night, we found bedbugs in our room. The front desk was very accommodating and gave us another room on a different floor, but still… yuck!
