Room doors are incredibly loud. They self close very fast and hard so they slam pretty loudly. The cleaning and maintenance staff flip the inside door lock to block the door from closing all the way and then they go in and out slamming the door every time.
There is a luggage storage room, but it’s open to anyone and not monitored. So anyone’s stuff can be stolen.
When we asked the restaurant manager to use a table to take 15 minutes to sign some paperwork, he said no. Even though no one was in the restaurant!
Even if your room is ready, they charge $17 an hour to check in early. Ridiculous if the room is already ready.
A friend called the hotel to surprise my wife and I with a bottle of wine or champagne sent to our room for our anniversary. After getting transferred and put on hold for 45 minutes, she gave up.

The room was fine, but...
Positives:
The location is excellent, just a few minutes walk to times square. Also, there are three subway lines and Penn Station (Train) within a 5-10 min walk.
The room was 'Nice'. It was clean but nothing special. The best thing about the room was it was large enough for our whole group. We had the Premier Family room which can accommodate up to 8 and has two full bathrooms. Our group was only 5 so it never felt crowded.
Negatives:
A small microwave would have been nice. There was a small island with a sink and refrigerator but no microwave to heat anything up. Also, it would be nice if there were more places to put your luggage. There is a coat closet but no dressers, only a small desk and chair in the bedroom.

Nothing, the worse experience of my life.
Negatives:
Sadly, our family member (mother) passed away during this trip. We had to reschedule the trip and return to Europe immediately. We asked for as help to refund remaining nights. While we were still in the hotel, I already had the death certificate with me, but the staff were so "nice" that they didn't need it and said they would take care of everything. Liars! Not only did they not handle anything, but they ignored calls from booking.com to refund the money.
And when I went back to Europe, the hotel ignored me, did not reply and did not respond to Booking.com emails and continued to do so. To make another dollar, my trip has not been cancelled during this whole difficult period, even though I have been out from America for a long time. Avoid this hotel, because in the matter of any accident could happen, you will not only be alone, but you will also be scammed by the hotel.
And to the hotel team, I wish that karma will come back to you to feel totally the same like our family, so that you will understand how the help is needed at such times, not scamming people.

Ideal location for us, close to Penn station, which is where we arrived and departed (though the street itself is sketchy). Comfortable beds. Good WiFi.
Negatives:
The hotel is old and tired. Very compact room, with very poor lighting. Above all, the noise, from the aircon units outside, from the corridor and from the neighbouring room.

Positives:
This was a nice alternative to the other wyndham property around the corner on 8th where I usually. We were on the 5th floor and the street noise was significantly less than staying closer to 8th ave. The beds were actually very comfortable, the rooms modest and clean, and the water temp and pressure were plusses. I appreciated the multiple mirrors in the room which was small but well equipped. There didn't seem to be a lot of people staying here during my mid-week stay, as the hallways, lobby and others areas of the hotel were relatively empty and quiet. There was no wait at check in or for checking out. And location wise, I love being within walking distance of Liberty Bagels, a Starbucks, a mailbox and of course, Penn Station.
Negatives:
There is very little for me to say in this regard. I had no complaints about the hotel actually. Any gripes are moreso issues with prices in NYC and the taxes and fees that drive up costs. But that's not the hotel's fault!
